As I was drafting this post I chose three big lessons that have helped me to succeed in my previous two businesses as well as my current. For some reason though I was uninspired to write, and put it down for a day. When I woke up this morning my brain had put two and two together, and I realized exactly what the most crucial factor of my success has been.

As you know I’m a recovered alcoholic with more than 11 years of sobriety. This gives me a different perspective on life. Every day not living a life of drunken hell is a blessing. Being able to provide opportunities for my daughter Palamee is a blessing. Being able to support my wife as much as she has supported me over the years is a blessing. I am a very lucky man. But luck is not what I’m talking about. After all luck is where opportunity meets preparation.
